Flynn Gold finds resource definition-ready zinc-lead-silver targets at Henty

Flynn Gold Ltd (ASX:FG1) recently completed a project-wide review and target modelling on its 100%-owned Henty Zinc-Lead-Silver Project in western Tasmania.

The completed work found more than 15 shallow zinc-lead-silver targets, including advanced-stage resource definition-ready prospects at Mariposa and Grieves Siding, within an established Tier 1 mineral province with operating world-class mines.

The Mariposa Prospect is resource definition ready with near-surface mineralisation previously drilled over 800 metres of strike length (open) with best drill intercepts including:

  • DM47 - 17.9 metres at 17.6% zinc+lead and 101 g/t silver from 4.1 metres.
Historical drilling at the Grieves Siding Prospect indicates an extensive system with large tonnage potential.

Near-surface mineralisation drilled over 800 metres strike length (open) showed the best historical drill intercepts including:

  • ZG107 -13.15 metres at 11.6% zinc+lead from 124 metres and 8.35 metres at 22.4% zinc+lead from 154.5 metres.
Drill permitting is underway at both prospects and the company expects to start drilling in late 2023/early 2024.

About Henty

The Henty Project is made up of a district-scale stratiform carbonate-hosted base metal system hosting five mineralised stratigraphic horizons identified over +50 kilometres of combined strike length.

Mineralisation is identified from surface to known depths of +500 metres (open).

Henty is within 5 kilometres of the historical mining town of Zeehan and has excellent access to road, rail, power and port infrastructure.

The project is within an established mining region with four world-class base metal deposits within a 30-kilometre radius.

Since the 1970s, the area has been recognised as highly prospective for carbonate-hosted base metals but there has been no significant exploration effort since the early 2000s.

Past explorers include Amoco-EZ, CRAE (Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO)) and Noranda Pacific. While there was significant district-wide exploration efforts, most targets remain under-explored.

Flynn Gold’s farm-in started in 2016 and the company took 100% ownership in 2021.
