Great Boulder Resources resumes exploration drilling at Side Well Gold Project

Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has recommenced exploration drilling at its flagship Side Well Gold Project near Meekatharra in Western Australia, to test several high-priority targets at the project’s Saltbush, Mulga Bill North and Matilda prospects.

This resumed aircore and reverse circulation (RC) drilling program will also test anomalies at the recently acquired Polelle Project, which is around 8 kilometres east of Westgold’s Bluebird Gold Mine.

The combined drilling program is expected to take three to four weeks to complete, with assay results expected to be available within four to six weeks.

“The RC rig arrived at Saltbush last week. We have already completed another 12 holes there and now the rig is at Mulga Bill North for a combined RC and aircore program,” said Great Boulder managing director Andrew Paterson.

“The Mulga Bill North drilling includes holes drilled from north to south across the cross-cutting dyke, for geological purposes. They are designed to test the thickness of the dyke so we can tighten up our high-grade gold domains in that area, but as the holes are orthogonal to the north-plunging high-grade veins we are also hoping to intersect high gold grades.”

“After that, we’ll drill aircore targets at Mulga Bill North, the Matilda prospect and we will also drill the first holes into our new targets down on the Polelle Project south of town. These will be the first holes drilled in that area for many years, so we’re very keen to see results from Polelle.”

Heritage surveys planned

The company is also progressing plans to complete additional heritage surveys over all remaining un-surveyed target areas within the Side Well and Polelle project areas.

GBR completed 200-metre spaced clearance lines over the 14-kilometre Ironbark Corridor in late 2023, area clearance surveys over Saltbush in late 2023 and the 2-kilometre Saltbush northwest extension in April 2024.

Ongoing survey work is now planned for the southern extension of the Ironbark Corridor south of Saltbush, and new areas at Polelle not previously surveyed. This will maximise efficiency of ongoing exploration by ensuring all targets are available for drilling as required.
