Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 2.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 12.98% or 0.037 points to trade at 0.322 at the close. Meanwhile, Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) added 7.69% or 0.005 points to end at 0.070 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 6.67% or 0.009 points to 0.144 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 9.26% or 0.06 points to trade at 0.55 at the close. Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) declined 7.36% or 0.12 points to end at 1.51 and Korres (AT:KRRr) was down 4.52% or 0.18 points to 3.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.63% or 7.30 to $1159.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.17% or 0.61 to hit $51.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $56.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.1071, while EUR/GBP rose 1.27% to 0.7212.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 96.43.
