Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Biomed, Banking and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 added 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 25 were OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which rose 3.52% or 131 points to trade at 3850 at the close. Teva (TA:TEVA) added 2.37% or 460 points to end at 19900 and Perrigo (TA:PRGO) was up 2.04% or 720 points to 36000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gazit Globe (TA:GZT), which lost 2.24% or 81 points to trade at 3542 in late trade. Nice Ltd (TA:NICE) declined 2.02% or 500 points to end at 24230 and Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA) shed 1.97% or 360 points to 17920.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 214 to 135 and 98 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.20% or 0.99 to $43.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 2.02% or 0.95 to hit $46.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.16% or 2.15 to trade at $1325.85 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.03% to 3.7866, while EUR/ILS rose 0.27% to 4.2589.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 95.45.
