Investing.com – Israel equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Biomed and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 fell 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Discount (TA:DSCT), which rose 2.20% or 18.1 points to trade at 841.6 at the close. Elbit Systems (TA:ESLT) added 1.87% or 760 points to end at 41400 and Cellcom (TA:CEL) was up 1.43% or 53 points to 3768 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Frutarom (TA:FRUT), which lost 1.69% or 350 points to trade at 20340 in late trade. Mizrahi Tefahot (TA:MZTF) declined 1.43% or 89 points to end at 6147 and Amot Investments Ltd (TA:AMOT) shed 1.32% or 23 points to 1717.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 226 to 175 and 41 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.45% or 0.70 to $49.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.42% or 0.73 to hit $52.15 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 3.85 to trade at $1251.75 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.26% to 3.6256, while EUR/ILS fell 0.33% to 3.8974.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 99.93.
