Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Ferrari NV (MI:RACE), which rose 3.38% or 2.75 points to trade at 84.20 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 3.01% or 0.410 points to end at 14.050 and Terna (MI:TRN) was up 1.95% or 0.094 points to 4.912 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which lost 1.45% or 0.0500 points to trade at 3.3960 in late trade. Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) declined 1.24% or 0.075 points to end at 5.980 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) shed 0.99% or 0.22 points to 21.93.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 185 to 172 and 17 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.03% or 0.48 to $46.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.11% or 0.54 to hit $49.38 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.06 to trade at $1240.84 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1519, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8837.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.57.
