Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which rose 7.01% or 0.302 points to trade at 4.612 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 6.22% or 0.295 points to end at 5.035 and Exor (MI:EXOR) was up 3.75% or 1.14 points to 31.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM), which lost 1.51% or 0.08 points to trade at 5.24 in late trade. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) declined 0.73% or 0.15 points to end at 20.27 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) shed 0.53% or 0.20 points to 37.61.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 229 to 166 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.03% or 0.50 to $48.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.71% or 0.35 to hit $49.63 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1272.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP fell 1.35% to 0.7717.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.74.
