Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.41% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 7.75% or 4.44 points to trade at 61.73 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 2.89% or 0.65 points to end at 22.95 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 2.85% or 0.385 points to 13.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 1.72% or 0.147 points to trade at 8.409 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.18% or 0.24 points to end at 20.50 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) shed 1.11% or 0.43 points to 38.27.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 68 to 62 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.82% to 13.80.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.10% or 0.58 to $53.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.03% or 0.57 to hit $55.65 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.54% or 6.65 to trade at $1226.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.0554, while EUR/GBP rose 0.58% to 0.8617.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 101.92.
