Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Electricity and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which rose 3.19% or 0.510 points to trade at 16.510 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 2.84% or 0.060 points to end at 2.170 and ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) was up 2.41% or 0.200 points to 8.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 3.53% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.820 in late trade. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 3.45% or 0.020 points to end at 0.560 and Panoro (LM:PML) shed 1.67% or 0.002 points to 0.118.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 12 to 9 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.56% or 0.26 to $46.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.43 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.33 to trade at $1226.57 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2870, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6012.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 99.03.
