Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Food & Beverages and Agriculture sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 9.42% or 0.680 points to trade at 7.900 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 5.88% or 0.025 points to end at 0.450 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was up 4.62% or 0.300 points to 6.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 12.78% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.157 in late trade. Unacem (LM:CEL) declined 4.54% or 0.100 points to end at 2.100 and Edegel (LM:EDE) shed 3.54% or 0.090 points to 2.450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 6 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 2.30% or 0.82 to $36.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.42% or 0.16 to hit $38.26 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.02% or 12.40 to trade at $1231.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3685, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8051.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 94.61.
