Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Industrials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.35% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 4.27% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.440 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 3.30% or 0.150 points to end at 4.700 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 3.20% or 0.93 points to 30.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which lost 6.25% or 0.400 points to trade at 6.000 in late trade. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 2.96% or 0.008 points to end at 0.262 and Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) shed 1.96% or 0.020 points to 1.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 8 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.86% or 1.26 to $45.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.19% or 0.09 to hit $46.89 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.32% or 4.00 to trade at $1247.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2865, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7121.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.38.
