Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Sacyr (MC:SCYR), which rose 3.51% or 0.057 points to trade at 1.683 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 2.22% or 0.091 points to end at 4.195 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was up 1.25% or 0.220 points to 17.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Acciona (MC:ANA), which lost 3.28% or 2.280 points to trade at 67.300 in late trade. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) declined 2.25% or 0.117 points to end at 5.087 and Indra A (MC:IDR) shed 1.71% or 0.169 points to 9.744.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 86 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.33% or 4.15 to $1276.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.22% or 1.49 to hit $47.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.66% or 1.27 to trade at $49.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1333, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7865.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 94.44.
