Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Wood, Paper & Printing and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 4.81% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.090 at the close. Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) added 4.27% or 1.68 points to end at 41.02 and Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) was up 3.94% or 0.050 points to 1.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which lost 7.95% or 1.66 points to trade at 19.22 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 4.95% or 0.110 points to end at 2.110 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) shed 3.76% or 0.080 points to 2.050.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 233 to 102 and 73 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.51% or 6.35 to $1242.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.73% or 0.38 to hit $52.55 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.50 to trade at $55.55 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.86% to 3.7132, while EUR/TRY fell 0.68% to 3.9750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 100.12.
