Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Electricity, Tourism and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN), which rose 8.73% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.370 at the close. Net Turizm Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:NTTUR) added 4.89% or 0.090 points to end at 1.930 and Alkim Alkali Kimya AS (IS:ALKIM) was up 4.62% or 1.18 points to 26.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which lost 8.90% or 0.260 points to trade at 2.660 in late trade. Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) declined 2.89% or 3.10 points to end at 104.10 and Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) shed 2.46% or 0.030 points to 1.190.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 199 to 127 and 81 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.57% or 7.12 to $1249.38 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.44% or 0.20 to hit $44.77 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.18 to trade at $47.19 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.43% to 3.5175, while EUR/TRY rose 0.12% to 3.9261.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 97.14.
