Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Basic Metals and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 13.40% or 4.04 points to trade at 34.18 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 3.70% or 0.010 points to end at 0.280 and Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI) was up 2.81% or 0.140 points to 5.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which lost 4.67% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.450 in late trade. Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) declined 3.48% or 1.16 points to end at 32.22 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) shed 3.09% or 0.030 points to 0.940.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 196 to 140 and 70 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.57% or 6.65 to $1165.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.96% or 0.51 to hit $52.47 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.23 to trade at $55.49 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.84% to 3.4638, while EUR/TRY fell 0.55% to 3.6921.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 100.78.
