The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Glencore PLC (L:GLEN), which rose 2.76% or 3.1000 points to trade at 115.6000 at the close. Meanwhile, Ashtead Group PLC (L:AHT) added 2.20% or 22.00 points to end at 1022.00 and Travis Perkins PLC (L:TPK) was up 1.98% or 38.00 points to 1954.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC (L:HIK), which fell 5.18% or 112.00 points to trade at 2052.00 at the close. Compass Group PLC (L:CPG) declined 3.22% or 36.00 points to end at 1083.00 and EasyJet PLC (L:EZJ) was down 2.11% or 37.000 points to 1713.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1273 to 867 and 431 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.56% or 6.40 to $1135.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.69% or 0.32 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.18% or 0.58 to trade at $48.98 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.5427, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.7144.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.93.
