Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.73%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were KONE Oyj (HEL:KNEBV), which rose 4.20% or 1.37 points to trade at 34.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Konecranes Oyj (HEL:KCR1V) added 3.86% or 0.83 points to end at 22.36 and Nokia Oyj (HEL:NOKIA) was up 3.65% or 0.215 points to 6.105 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outotec Oyj (HEL:OTE1V), which fell 2.59% or 0.088 points to trade at 3.306 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HEL:NESTE) declined 2.42% or 0.51 points to end at 20.57 and Fortum Oyj (HEL:FUM1V) was down 1.42% or 0.19 points to 13.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 126 to 45 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Outotec Oyj (HEL:OTE1V) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.59% or 0.088 to 3.306. Shares in Fortum Oyj (HEL:FUM1V) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.42% or 0.19 to 13.23.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.55% or 0.27 to $48.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $45.33 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.02% or 11.50 to trade at $1115.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1177, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.7390.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 96.44.
